URJ PRESS Releases The Seder Activity Book,
A Title That Will Delight Children at Passover

The Seder Activity Book, a new workbook that features games and activities that actively involve children in the traditional Passover meal, leads the selection of informative, engaging, and fun children's Passover books from the URJ PRESS.

Following the order of the 14 steps of the seder, The Seder Activity Book allows children to solve connect-the-dots and word-jumble puzzles, pictographic riddles and mazes, and color-by-numbers and drawing exercises. Different activities teach the history of Passover and the rituals associated with it, and there is an emphasis on Hebrew vocabulary, making the book ideally suited for both home and classroom use.

Written and illustrated by Judy Dick, a freelance artist and museum educator at Yeshiva University in New York, The Seder Activity Book retails for $6.95. It is 40 pages long and includes a helpful Hebrew glossary.

While children in grades K through 3 will delight at the fun and games in The Seder Activity Book, pre-schoolers and toddlers will love A Tree Trunk Seder, the fourth in a series of holiday board books by writer and artist Camille Kress. Its warm watercolor illustrations invite children to a woodland Passover meal hosted by a family of adorable squirrels, and its simple text covers the basic elements of the holiday, including matzah, the haggadah, and family togetherness. A Tree Trunk Seder is available for $5.95.

The Matzah Ball Fairy, the humorous tale of Frieda Pinsky and her quest for the perfect matzah ball recipe, will appeal to both young readers and their parents. Featuring the vibrant illustrations of Vlad Guzner and the whimsical prose of Carla Heymsfeld, the hardcover book retails for $12.95.

Lisa Rauchwerger's Chocolate Chip Challah and Other Twists on the Jewish Holiday Table is one of the best-selling children's books ever issued by the URJ PRESS. Using the Jewish calendar as a framework, it allows both parents and children to cook up mouthwatering meals from easy-to-follow recipes. The interactive text is complete with whimsical, full-color illustrations; an illustrated cooking dictionary; Hebrew vocabulary, and charming anecdotes related to a particular holiday or food. It retails for $15.95.

All of these books (and many more!) can be ordered by calling the URJ PRESS toll-free at (888) 489-8242, or visiting the Press's Web site at http://URJPress.com.
