Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Mario
Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968) was one of Italy's best-known composers in the period between the First and Second world wars. In 1939 he fled to the United States, where he became an active composer for the movies in Hollywood. He is known for his two guitar concertos, but he also composed many works on Jewish themes, including several oratorios, a synagogue service and many songs that show his Sephardic roots.
